The situation is this... I have a SharePoint 2007 custom list where attachments are enabled so one or more attachments can be associated with a list item. Also, this list can be consumed as a RSS Feed.
The request is this... Users would like each attachment to be downloaded to the local machine along with the feed, just as a document library Feed would do when some config settings are modified.
Is it possible to do at least one of the following:

Is it possible to do at least one of the following:
- Provide this capability straight through what SharePoint 2007 provides with either some changes to the RSS template and/or some setting I'm unable to locate?
- Provide this feature through SharePoint services with a custom application? So a seperate application would gather up data on these lists, pull any associated documents, then provide some sort of feed with all associated attachments attached on the email? Off the top of my head the trick here would be how to fill a custom RSS Feed template along with the download of each attachment.
I want like to avoid a custom application that builds up a standard email since SharePoint does 95% of what I want with using RSS Feeds.
